Shocking

What is up with tearing down your employees? I must say, this morning's meeting ranks right up there with the "Let's brainstorm excuses!" meeting. We sat in front of our manager as she proceeded to inform us of everyting that we did wrong this past week. Including comments implying that only one of us actually works and "Well, I find that shocking."

you know what i find shocking?

I find it shocking that my manager was able to gain this position.

I find it shocking that as busy as we are and as well as we handle the flow, we continue to be criticized.

I find it shocking that with a college degree I am still in this job!

I find it shocking that not only do I smile, try to be efficient and process transactions to the best of my ability (with speed and accuracy as they impose) that it doesn't matter!

My God, when will I be able to leave this menial position, and breathe in the fresh air that doesn't reek of old money and new tile?!!

Exhale.

At least it's Friday.

I am on a journey, searching for God and what that means in my daily life. It's not about constraints, it's not about limitations, but freedom. I know something exists beyond the visible. I live thinking about possibilities and what could be and the necessary steps to make things happen. I like long talks with a good friend, drinking tea, eating breakfast with my husband, going to a bookstore (they are the new libraries), cool mornings, windy days in the fall, learning about love and life from those who seem to have found their way, teenagers, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, long baths, and connecting with another heart. I am learning how to love, how to live, when to speak and when not to, when it's time to gather the stones, when it's time to let go, surrender, forgiveness, and discipline.
