A-town Down

at tyi this week. tyi is a regional youth conference that started yesterday and continues through until the 8th. it's like 101 degrees out here in oklahoma, but i am so excited to be here! my FORM class went really well this afternoon. the kids (even the boys who appear quite streetwise and no the pilates type) seemed to really be enjoying themselves.

there are a lot of responsibilities i'm trying to balance between jason and i. but it's really rewarding. i mean, besides the early mornings and late nights and not so great food. the kids are really ready to meet with God. it's like they are searching every word you say to draw truth out of your life. very encouraging.

i don't know how much i will be able to post while here, but i will give a "proper" update upon returning to the ATL.

ps. the first night, we had staff introductions, and i said, "peace up, A-town down."

Was praying for the revolution out there only this morning. my thoughts continue with you all and missing everything except the 101 degrees and late nights/early mornings. actually, the lack of sleep wasn't that bad.

I am on a journey, searching for God and what that means in my daily life. It's not about constraints, it's not about limitations, but freedom. I know something exists beyond the visible. I live thinking about possibilities and what could be and the necessary steps to make things happen. I like long talks with a good friend, drinking tea, eating breakfast with my husband, going to a bookstore (they are the new libraries), cool mornings, windy days in the fall, learning about love and life from those who seem to have found their way, teenagers, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, long baths, and connecting with another heart. I am learning how to love, how to live, when to speak and when not to, when it's time to gather the stones, when it's time to let go, surrender, forgiveness, and discipline.
