S.W.A.T.

so there was a major raid involving a swat team in our neighborhood yesterday. four guys were taken in. and it happened next door.

we have mixed feelings.

yes, the neighborhood is most likely a lot safer b/c these guys went to jail. and now we will being see much less foot traffic along our street, but what about our neighbor? he had made some bad decisions and was caught up in a life of crime. but certain situations forced him to make the wrong decisions. and who knows if i had grown up in a different neighborhood with desperate situations if i wouldn't have made the same choices.

we liked our neighbor. sure he freaked me out at times, as you can read from various posts, but i really felt like we were building a relationship with him and his brother.

it's strange the people God brings into our path, maybe the reason he moved in next door was because jason and i would be his neighbors. and maybe that was the only chance we will get.

wow.. that's a sad thing, but i have a hunch your chances to love on him are just beginning.. whether that's a visit to jail to see him or just acceptance upon his return, i think we're just reading the beginning chapters of this story.

i hope, anyway.. no pressure, really. :-)

I am on a journey, searching for God and what that means in my daily life. It's not about constraints, it's not about limitations, but freedom. I know something exists beyond the visible. I live thinking about possibilities and what could be and the necessary steps to make things happen. I like long talks with a good friend, drinking tea, eating breakfast with my husband, going to a bookstore (they are the new libraries), cool mornings, windy days in the fall, learning about love and life from those who seem to have found their way, teenagers, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, long baths, and connecting with another heart. I am learning how to love, how to live, when to speak and when not to, when it's time to gather the stones, when it's time to let go, surrender, forgiveness, and discipline.
