"Live, Love, Laugh"

A matted picture on my desk reads as such.

The day is cloudy, but warmer than it has been, the trees outside sway every other minute. I can hear the conversations from phone calls others are making from their respective offices.

"I'll be there at 6:00."

"I need you to send those files interoffice mail so I can receive them by Monday."

"Well, hel-LO, Colonel!"

People and their work. How much of their time is wasted in order to gain some sort of encouragement to make it through the day?

Today is moving day and all of the stress that induces. Things to get done, checks to be written, movers to organize, boxes to count, clothes to pack. But above all else, there are people to be seen. Tonight...

"...we're grilling out... see if you can make it."

Friends that I don't talk to as often as I like b/c of the distance. But people I need in my life to tie me to the past and who I was and who I could have been, but most importantly, who I have become. With their help and time and investment and availability.

I don't think there is anything sweeter than the availability you can provide someone. It can change their life, mold and shape them.

That's why although today is moving day with a lot to be done, I see nothing else but this evening where I can sit and talk with those who love me and just BE. In the twilight, over dinner, sharing stories and memories and laughter.

Living, Loving, Laughing...

I am on a journey, searching for God and what that means in my daily life. It's not about constraints, it's not about limitations, but freedom. I know something exists beyond the visible. I live thinking about possibilities and what could be and the necessary steps to make things happen. I like long talks with a good friend, drinking tea, eating breakfast with my husband, going to a bookstore (they are the new libraries), cool mornings, windy days in the fall, learning about love and life from those who seem to have found their way, teenagers, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, long baths, and connecting with another heart. I am learning how to love, how to live, when to speak and when not to, when it's time to gather the stones, when it's time to let go, surrender, forgiveness, and discipline.
